Thyroid dysfunction is often missed by us. All pregnant and post menopausal women are at increased risk of hypo-thyroidism. Maternal hypo-thyoidism must be identified to avoid fetal damage. The 'nine square game' explains any thyroid dysfunction. FT4 & TSH are the tests usually needed.
